Google Index Checker
Instantly verify if your URL is indexed by Google. Analyze indexability, simulate crawling status, and get actionable insights.
How to Check Google Index Status
Getting your website indexed by Google is the most critical step in SEO. If your page isn't indexed, it doesn't exist in search results, meaning zero organic traffic. The Google Index Checker helps webmasters and SEO professionals determine if a specific URL or domain has been crawled and added to Google's database.
Using the Index Checker Tool
Simply enter your full URL (e.g., https://example.com/page) or just the domain name into the input field above. Our tool will analyze the URL format and provide a simulated audit report indicating whether the page is likely indexed, along with estimated metrics.
The "site:" Operator Method
The most accurate, manual way to check indexing is using the site: search operator. This tool provides a direct "Verify Live" button that automates this for you.
- To check a domain: Search
site:yourdomain.com. This shows all indexed pages for that domain. - To check a specific page: Search
site:yourdomain.com/specific-page. If the page shows up, it is indexed. If Google says "did not match any documents," it is not indexed.
Why is my page not indexed?
There are several reasons why Google might exclude a page:
- Noindex Tag: The page contains a
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">tag. - Robots.txt: Your robots.txt file is blocking Googlebot from crawling the URL.
- Low Quality Content: Google may have crawled the page but decided it wasn't valuable enough to index ("Crawled - currently not indexed").
- New Page: The page was recently published and Google hasn't found it yet.
Disclaimer: This tool utilizes a deterministic simulation algorithm to generate the index status and metrics shown in the dashboard. Due to Google's strict security policies (CORS and anti-scraping), it is technically impossible for a client-side browser tool to directly query Google's live database via API. Use the "Verify Live" button provided in the results to perform the actual manual check on Google.
