What is an XML Sitemap?

Key Sitemap Tags Explained

<loc>: The absolute URL of the page. This is the only mandatory tag for each entry.
<lastmod>: The date when the content was last updated (YYYY-MM-DD). This helps search engines know if they need to re-crawl a page.
<changefreq>: A hint to crawlers about how frequently the page changes (e.g., 'daily' for news, 'monthly' for archives).
<priority>: A value between 0.0 and 1.0 indicating the importance of the page relative to other pages on your site. Default is usually 0.5.
